Dr. Kierian Nwugwo D.D.S.
I received my undergraduate education at both, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, New Jersey, and SUNY College at Brockport, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from SUNY Brockport in 1981.
I enrolled into the MA, Ph.D. Microbiology program at the University at Buffalo from 1981-1984 and later enrolled at the school of Dental Medicine, University at Buffalo graduating in 1991 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. I am also an alumnus of the U.S. National Health Service Corps, 1995 to 1998. I am currently a member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, and the Sixth District Dental Society. I have been in practice since 1991. I worked in a dentist/physician shortage area or a disadvantaged community, for eleven years before coming to New York Dental Group in 2004.
I and my wife Chioma have three beautiful children and live locally. I enjoy living and working in this area, and plan to remain here.
Terri Blachek, RDH
Dental hygiene was something that I was always interested in, so I decided to pursue a career in the dental hygiene field. After spending several years working as a dental assistant, I decided to pursue my dream. I received my associate’s degree in applied science, dental hygiene, from Broome Community College in May of 2002, making the Dean’s list with a GPA of 3.6-4.0. While at Broome Community College I was elected to membership in Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society, and received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award! Upon completion of my degree, I immediately got to work! I spent one year working in Montrose PA, and in 2004 came to New York Dental Group. I have worked here for the last 6 years and absolutely love it!
Julia Yarovoy RDH
My name is Julia; I’m a dental hygienist at NY Dental. My emphasis is on preventative dental care, patient education and non-surgical periodontal therapy. I’ve lived in several countries and understand different cultural backgrounds. I have learned different languages and have experience working with mentally handicapped. I graduated from BCC Dental Hygiene Program with high honors. I was a class president, won Presidents Award for Excellence in Professional Participation at a Student Level. I received Broome County Dental Society Award for Excellence in Dental Hygiene. Although dental hygiene is not my first career it is my passion! I have two goals: one is to help people overcome their fear of the dentist, and the other is to help in achieving healthy and beautiful smiles for all of our current and prospective patients.
