Looking and feeling good are important to everyone, and if you are missing one or more teeth, this impacts your chewing, smile, and possibly your speech. There are a variety of options to choose from to fix this: implants, fixed bridges and removable bridges. We will help you to decide which is the best option for you. You can learn more about the different types of bridges here.
A tooth implant will look like your own tooth. It is accomplished by inserting a metal post into your jawbone which is then capped by a crown designed to look like one of your own teeth. The advantage to this method of tooth replacement or tooth restoration is that the teeth on either side of the gap do not need to be ground down and fitted with a crown, as in fixed bridges. They are permanent and can be expected to last a lifetime with proper oral hygiene, unlike removable bridges. Implants look just like your own teeth, so no one else will know the difference.
Our dentists will help you to decide if this procedure is right for you. It does require surgery, adequate bone to support the implant, and good dental hygiene following the procedure.
